inserting pictures into the fonts themselves

i have seen some titles composed of picures inside the fonts themslves .

anyone know what im talking about ?

can any one help tell me if i need a certain program , or how to do this ?

no photoshop here

Creating a Mask

Outside of Adobe Photoshop or a similar program I am not sure it is possible. In Photoshop it is really easy. Just type in your phrase and place you picture on the layer directly above your text layer. Hold down Alt and place your mouse in between the two layer and click. This will create a layer mask so that your picture appears only with in you words.
